Over the weekend I escaped my beloved jungle city (New York), leaving behind routinely work and hobby grind schedules including my seemingly enchanting social media monitoring habits, all to revivify in a much quieter absolute beauty of a place in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Cape Cod is a geographic cape extending into the Atlantic Ocean from mainland Massachusetts, in the northeastern United States.
I love to travel! My goal entails constantly exploring different cities or countries, experiencing different cultures, ethnic foods and meeting beautiful people that inhabit this planet; it simply feeds my free-spirited soul.
The decision for this mini getaway to Cape Cod came as spontaneously as me pointing out an unfamiliar nearby location on the map, conducting quick research and then making plans to explore what the place has to offer. While picking, serene-looking images of the region caught my attention and took my breath away.
I had no expectations of the town, I just had feelings of pure excitement for the chance to get away period. To have discovered a place with such beautiful natural habitats and a laid back appeal increased my anticipation for this much needed weekend escape.
While packing on the morning of the trip, I spotted these peachy-orange pants that never got worn since purchasing it almost two years ago (hehe .. that’s just like me to do things like that), thus the justified reason why I’ll wear it as my travel outfit. Then the rest of the outfit got pieced together with the peachy pants as the focal point.
While still rummaging through some clothes, I peeped the crop top and thought, yes! This will for sure pair well with the pants so I checked in the mirror and voila, my #ootd was ready to rock and roll for Cape Cod.
Accessorizing came easy: A woven fedora hat, one very thin dainty gold bangle, stud earrings (my fav earring style), sun-shades for the days and finito!
Leaving New York to get on the road trip drive to Cape Cod.
Finally arrived in Cape Cod and checked into the lodging. This is outside the mansion of the property, some guests stay in the mansion.
I didn’t, was not in my planned budget.
Considering I’m currently on a tight budget but still insisted on scheduling a few travels throughout the year.
This trip cost under $450 in total. It covered: the resort accommodations, dinner, lunch, breakfast, cocktails and a little bit of splurge shopping for dainty jewelry pieces at Marc Jacob’s store (an intriguing discovery) in a tight-knit small community of Provincetown; about forty-minutes away from the beautiful Ocean Edge
My beautiful lodging area not far from the mansion.
The week past before this mini getaway was certainly a trying one in a few ways; from disconcerting news about my family member’s health back home in Texas, to having to pray for a hand full of loved ones about challenging situations they opened up to me about that’s weighing heavy on their hearts, to some challenges of my own I have to adjust to regarding personal developmental dealings. With everything I’ve just mentioned, that’s life and part of our learning journey through everything, so imagine how I feel about this the getaway coming right on time.
Traveling counts as one of the best remedies to cure many overwhelming circumstances life spews out at me sometimes. It presents an opportunity to take a pause moment, get humble and ‘be still and know’ that at the end of the day I am not ‘The Savior‘ and everything will work well and work itself out in the end because I have faith and believed just so.
I pray about everything and then proceeded to relax and enjoy my trip. Had some cocktails the night of arrival, then the next day enjoyed some peaceful moments walking on the beach, getting my feet wet, then later on took a drive to another town about 2 hours away for some shopping and basically had a beautiful trip.
Once I pray about everything I cannot control, the best thing to do is to leave it at the point of prayer and stop worrying. I choose to dive back into the daily routines of life by remaining present and taking each day one at a time with a heart of gratitude, acknowledging anything that is good even in the midst of chaos.
